Sure, we’ve shown you a hands-on, but we know your brain’s been working hard imagining what it’s like to unwrap Sony’s next-gen handheld. The PS Vita could easily be considered one of the — if not the biggest — teases of the gadgetverse; since it was first unveiled, it’s only had time for a smattering of cameos. Regardless, no one is questioning the Vita’s determination to be in as many wish lists as possible by its eventual 2012 release. Folks who tend to enjoy teasers can find precisely that just after the break.

Auslogics Disk Defrag has been part of my system maintenance toolkit for quite some time. With the release of version 3.2, it’s now even better at tidying up and optimizing your system’s hard disk drives. In addition to a cleaner, easier-to-use interface, Disk Defrag 3.2 offers improved single file and folder defragging, better processing of multiple disks, a simplified scheduling screen, and more informative tool tips. Auslogics has also fine-tuned the program’s defragmentation and file consolidation algorithms.
For laptop users, there’s a new option to lock the program if your system is running on battery power — so scheduled operations don’t kick in and drain your power source at an inopportune moment. If you happen to have an SSD installed in your PC, you can head to the Disk Defrag options and exclude it from scanning (many think that defragmenting an SSD is a very bad idea).
Auslogics Disk Defrag is a free download and works with most versions of Windows.

We’ve come across an internal document from Bell Mobility that’s bound to raise the hopes of a few good Canadians. Yes folks, we’re talking Ice Cream Sandwich. The carrier to the north estimates that it’ll have Android 4.0 ready for the Sensation in February, which is to be followed by the Raider’s update in March — this handset may be more familiar to AT&T customers as the Vivid. Pulling up the rear, users of the Galaxy S II are to expect the upgrade in April, and while the Optimus LTE is also mentioned, there’s no specific time frame for that one. Certainly estimated release dates don’t always come to fruition, but at least we know what Bell’s aiming for, anyway.

ASUS has excelled at building up the global Transformer craze, and although there’s been a few hiccups along the way, the quad-core beast is set to start hitting shelves around the world in the weeks ahead. According to Pocket-lint, the Taiwanese company has given confirmation that the newest Eee Pad on the block is hitting Great Britain in January. You’ll be surprised to hear that the Prime won’t be coming as a lone wolf, instead being bundled with its mighty dock companion and priced at £499 (around $770 in Greenbacks) for the 32GB WiFI-only version. We’d offer you a look at our review in the meantime, but on second thought, that probably makes the wait that much more unbearable…

We’re still waiting for Time Warner to bring its live TV streaming to Android, but the platform is enjoying some exclusive support today with two new apps. The first is the My TWC account management app which lets subscribers view their services, pay bills, adjust call forwarding and, soon, tap into their voicemail remotely. The other one is a new version of its TWC TV app, reformatted to work on phones even while the TWCable TV app on iOS is still a tablet only affair. iPhone and Android owners alike shouldn’t have to wait long for their relief however, as the iPhone edition is slated to arrive in January, and ICS-enabled live TV streaming is still on the roadmap for “early next year.” Hit up the corporate blog for the full feature lists and breakdowns, or just head over to the Android Market to install either free app.

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 7.7 is certainly no stranger to the good people at the FCC, as both WiFi and HSPA+ versions have already run the Commission’s gauntlet of radiation tests. The third time’s the charm for Verizon customers, however, because a new model dubbed SCH-i815 has made its way to the FCC bearing CDMA and LTE radios built to surf Big Red’s network. So, it looks like the Galaxy Tab 7.7 will be making its way to American store shelves sometime soon. The question is, did Sammy have to beef up the Tab’s profile to cram in the LTE gear like its Nexus cousin?

A living British treasure makes a 3D documentary that much better. On Thursday, the Sky television network announced that Sir David Attenborough will be embarking on his fourth 3D project with Sky, a three-part natural history series centering on the Galapagos islands. Galapagos 3D, which is set to air on Sky 3D in late 2012, will be written and presented by Attenborough and follows several successful collaborations between Sky and Atlantic Productions, including the BAFTA-winning Flying Monsters 3D, The Bachelor King 3D (which airs on New Year’s Eve) and Kingdom of Plants 3D, a series based at Kew Gardens (due to air on Sky 3D next year). The series will include both micro and macro filming on location as well 3D visual effects which discuss both the Galapagos islands and the forces that helped shape them. In other news, David Attenborough really likes hanging around thousands of sea birds, and if there’s a windbreaker he can wear while doing it, then he’s set.

Zen Coding made quite a splash when we first covered it almost a year ago. For those who aren’t familiar, Zen is a fantastic form of shorthand for quickly hand-coding HTML. And today, a new version is out!
Here are some of the goodies version 0.7 brings to the party:
- Text nodes: Writing something like a[href=/]{Click here} now works, and puts “Click here” within the link.
- New actions added: Increment/decrement number under cursor, evaluate math expressions, and more.
- Wrap with Abbreviation was upgraded.
There are several other improvements but they’re all rather technical. If you use Zen Coding (or are intrigued by the concept) go ahead and read the release notes for this new version.
Zen Coding has official implementations for a ton of editors, including TextMate, Apatana, Coda, E2, Komodo, Notepad++, PSPad, and more. It also has unofficial builds for Vim, UltraEdit, Visual Studio and more.
If you want to play with Zen Coding without installing it, you can use the online demo to see some of its magic in action.
